The casino is, well, the heart of any Vegas casino. While there is much to keep you occupied at the MGM Grand, it is no secret that their 171,500 square foot gaming floor is the main draw. Games for the Table
At the MGM Grand, you can play various table games for a variety of stakes. During the week, early morning and mid-day, and slower seasons of the year, the lowest stakes on table games are usually $5.
The lowest limits are raised on busy evenings and weekends, and the smallest you’ll find is a $25 betting minimum.
This is especially true around major holidays or when the MGM Grand Garden Arena hosts a major athletic event.
The supply and demand theory governs the casino, as it does all other Vegas assets. They want to make sure that the biggest players always have a seat at the table, and the only way to achieve so is to raise the minimum betting limits.
If you’re a newcomer or a smaller player, we recommend checking out the activity early in the day or as far away from peak hours as possible. Later in the evening, you may be able to find cheaper tables, but the seats will fill up quickly.
Slots
You’ll adore what the MGM Grand Las Vegas has to offer if you enjoy one-armed bandits (an old slang word for slots). You’ll witness a sea of slot machines as soon as you enter the front door and take your first left onto the gaming floor.
You’ll notice slot machines packed into every nook and crevice of the casino floor as you work your way back to where the table games are. As a result, if you can’t discover a game you like to play, we strongly advise you to look a little longer or ask for assistance. Some can be difficult to locate.
The slots are close together in terms of space, but you still have enough room to enjoy your game. If you have a large group of friends who want to watch you play, it may not be easy to accommodate them, especially if they need to stand in the pathway during some games.
This shouldn’t be an issue if you’re playing alone or with other people playing the machines next to you.
The MGM Grand Casino in Las Vegas offers practically every slot machine imaginable, with denominations ranging from a dime to $1,000. Remember, those are simply the per-credit denominations; you can always wager more credits every spin if you want to bet more.
Contrary to popular assumption, a penny slot machine is usually played for more than a penny each spin. While it is possible to play for a cent, most people wager $1-$2 per spin. It’s entirely up to you and your personal preferences.
